FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Which liner colour is recommended?

While the light blue liner makes the water look authentically ‘beautiful blue’, the light grey liner is more neutral in appearance, allowing the Baptizo to blend perfectly into your colour scheme. Around two-thirds of all customers choose light grey – but our favourite colour is and always will be light blue! Light blue would definitely be our recommendation if anyone asked us.

How do you baptise in the Baptizo? Is there room for tall people?

In principle, there are several options. We highly recommend the following variation:

1. The person being baptised and, for example, two baptisers stand in the basin (conversation, baptismal verse, etc.).

2. The person being baptised sits down and crosses their arms in front of their chest.

3. The baptisers kneel down next to them and place one hand on the front and one on the back.

4. Depending on their height, the person being baptised's legs are slightly bent or crossed (cross-legged). Even with the ‘original’ basin size, people over 2 metres tall can be baptised – if necessary, we ask the person to slide forward a little.

5. For the actual baptism (after a baptismal formula), the upper body of the person being baptised is simply tilted backwards.

6. Afterwards, please lift the person being baptised back up :)

On request, we will be happy to send you a video of one of our baptisms.

When is which size recommended?

The original version (155 cm) is smaller, lighter, quicker to fill and empty. With a large number of baptisms per year, this makes a significant difference. With this version, there is plenty of room in the pool for the person being baptised and the person performing the baptism. However, the whole thing also works with two baptisers in the basin, albeit a little cramped. This size is also ideal for smaller locations and when the baptism is only part of the event.

The grand version (185 cm) looks significantly larger and more festive. It can comfortably accommodate a total of 3 people. People over 1.90 m tall also don't have to cross their legs as much. We recommend this version especially for large rooms and when the basin is in the centre of the room or the focus of the event.

Due to popular demand, we have also been offering the mighty Apostle version (D215 cm) since the beginning of 2022 for even greater space requirements.

How do you assemble the Baptizo?

Assembly is really easy:

Lay out the puzzle-shaped floor pads.

Use a cordless screwdriver to screw the side panels to the floor to form a long track.

Set up and connect the ends.

Clamp the pool liner inside.

Fill with water. Done.

That's it! You can find all the details in the instructions supplied. You can also download the detailed assembly instructions here (German/English).

How safe is the baptismal font?

The Baptizo was manufactured with great care and to the best of our knowledge and belief. As a tool mechanic, plastics technician and mechanical engineer, I was able to calculate the strength and stability of the font using modern computer-aided simulations. The swimming pool liner inside comes from Sweden and is produced especially for us as an expensive custom-made product by the European market leader in France.

Well over 1,000 baptisms have already been performed in our baptismal fonts without any incidents. When stored properly and used as intended, the Baptizo is absolutely safe.

Customs, import sales tax and delivery time to Switzerland?

We are happy to ship to Switzerland and do so regularly. You can order as normal via the online shop and select ‘Switzerland’ for shipping. In accordance with § 4 No. 1a UStG (German Value Added Tax Act), this is a tax-free export delivery to a third country, so we do not charge German VAT. Please note that you will also be charged Swiss import sales tax and a customs handling fee (we ship with DAP delivery terms). These additional fees (depending on the order value / approx. CHF 100 as a guide) will be invoiced to you separately by the shipping service provider.

After placing your order, you will receive an invoice from us by email within 24 hours with all the relevant payment information. Once payment has been received, we will hand over your shipment to the shipping service provider within 1-3 working days. The parcel delivery time is then approx. 2-5 working days. It therefore takes a total of approx. 1-2 weeks from placing your order to receiving your baptismal font.
